“They fictitiously moved me from home, together with the child, for a better school”

--

Starting school is one of the turning points in a parent’s life. First you have to see if the child is ready to take this step, which you, the adult, never are. See how this little one isn’t so little anymore, a sign that the years are gathering for you too. Your aunt’s words echo in your head: “small children, small problems, big children, big problems”.

After reading everything you could about emotional, cognitive, motor, psycho-how-to-be development and not reaching any results, after talking to the educators in the group and one of them told you that super-prepared and another thing is that it’s good to leave him because he’s too childish, adopt option Z. You take the child aside and ask him: “Would you like to go to school?”. He’s munching on something there while running with two cars. You understand that he said “yes” and consider the case closed.

Now you have another, more serious problem. Which school do you choose? You look in your wallet, you look at your card, you also take a look at the due date from the credit at home and you instantly decide: “state school”. With the decision made 500% you start to be interested in which school you are assigned to. As you find out, you start searching the internet for information about her.

At some point, you decide to go off-line (you’re a modern mother, what else!) and walk discreetly past the school at the times when the children leave for prep school. You leave the office. You also give the kid from the kindergarten free time and on the uncooked meal you take him out for lunch to haunt the streets. You arrive at the gate of the educational institution and you are struck by the diverse gathering in the courtyard. High school students, mixed with gymnasium students and between their legs running, rather aimlessly, the dwarfs of the preparatory class. Oh, you forgot that there is a conglomerate of schools! Maybe it won’t be so bad!

The father becomes a detective

You go out on the other side of the yard and come to an alley, where there is a gazebo. There, perched on the fence, are about 15 high school students, some with a bottle of juice next to them, others with a beer. They laugh, nudge each other and talk loudly. So loud that you can hear from the schoolyard how they are putting in and taking out, and I’m not talking about books and notebooks in the schoolbag. You look at them. You look at the tank holding your hand tightly and laughing at you. You wonder if what you want to do is right. You haven’t read better things on the internet either. You read in the press that in the summer the police came because two high school students fought like crows over a girl, and a while ago a math teacher was sued for harassment, and the parents won. The capacity scores aren’t brilliant either, but you think there’s still a long way to go.

When the situation forces you to…

You start over, more carefully, on parenting groups on social networks and find no support. The saying that circulates around the fair that a child can learn anywhere, if only he wants to, does not really work in an environment that does not seem to be suitable even for older students, let alone for those who take their first steps at school.

All you have to do is do what you didn’t want to do. But you have no choice. You are looking for another school near your home. You also consult with other parents whose little ones are going to go to prep school, ask around the neighborhood and finally choose.

Now you have to see which streets are ringed and who among the acquaintances is staying there. You don’t want to post an ad on Facebook. It’s not exactly legal, but you can’t leave your child in a school that isn’t safe. The minister said that we have to take them to the regional schools, that they are all good, but it’s as if you wouldn’t take her word for it that you know for sure that he didn’t go to the one where your child should go.
