Judicial police officers of the General Anticorruption Directorate – Ialomița County Anticorruption Service, under the coordination of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Ialomița Court, organized yesterday, March 26, 2024, an action to catch a public official in the act while receiving a sum of money as a bribe.
It is about an employee of DGASPC Ialomita who received the sum of 600 lei from a person, in exchange for not fulfilling his duties.
In fact, the reporting witness was taking care of a minor in foster care who had previously left his home, and in order to continue receiving the caregiver allowance, the DGASPC employee asked him, monthly, the amount of 600 lei. From the research, it emerged that it was the fourth month in which the reporting person would have given him the respective amount from the minor’s care allowance.
The investigations are continued under the aspect of committing the crime of bribery.
In the case, the criminal action was initiated against the DGASPC Ialomița employee, and the prosecutor ordered the measure of detention for 24 hours, and today he will be presented to the court with a proposal for preventive arrest.
We make it clear that the initiation of the criminal action is a stage of the criminal process regulated by the Code of Criminal Procedure, with the aim of creating the procedural framework for the administration of evidence, an activity that cannot, under any circumstances, defeat the principle of the presumption of innocence.
