Gmail will soon get Gemini email summarization integration
It was already clear that all major Google services would receive Gemini integration. However, it has now been revealed what this integration will look like in the Gmail app. Android expert and Android Authority contributor Assemble Debug revealed Gmail’s Gemini integration via a screenshot. He managed to get the feature working, even though Google hasn’t yet enabled it for the public. As you can see in the screenshot below, there will be a “Summarize This Email” button below the subject line of the email.
After you click the Summarize This Email button, the Gemini slider will appear at the bottom. This will provide a summary version of the email in bullet format. You can provide feedback by liking or disliking the output and copy the email summary by clicking the Clipboard button. This feature should be useful for emails that have a large amount of text.
Given that this feature seems to be working smoothly, Google might be ready to roll it out. However, the company might wait until the Google I/O 2024 event before launching it. At the upcoming event, scheduled for May 14, 2024, Google will fully reveal Android 15, Android TV/Google TV, ChromeOS, Wear OS 5, as well as progress on Chrome, Gemini and other services.
