They added: “We have a very large scale incident close to the orbital islands in Cannock.

“We have 10 fire engines in attendance supported by specialist equipment and officers.

“Fire Fighters are asking all residents to close windows and doors due to smoke and all local businesses to evacuate.

Delays along roads in the Cannock area have been reported, but West Midlands Railway said the blaze had not affected train services.

Roads in the area are believed to be blocked due to the huge multi-emergency service response.

Motorway Midlands Updates said: “Major fire in Cannock this morning with a massive multi emergency service response including Fire, Police, Ambulance, National Grid and Gas all in attendance all roads surrounding DHL Unilever cannock are blocked.”
