The series of black incidents seems to have no end for the Boeing brand. An American plane was involved in an accident on the night of Wednesday to Thursday at the airport in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, 11 people were injured and the airport was closed, reports AFP, taken over by News.ro.

The plane, a Boeing 737-300, with 78 passengers on board, violently overshot the runway during takeoff from Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar, Senegal.

In a press release, the local authorities announced that eleven people were injured. Four of them are in serious condition.

In a video posted on social networks, the fuselage of the Boeing belonging to the Senegalese airline TransAir appears to be badly damaged.

Blaise Diagne airport management announced that an investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the accident.

“The re-opening of the airport is expected in the next few hours”, added the airport management.

On Wednesday, a plane belonging to the American manufacturer had to land in Istanbul without the front wheels after the landing gear did not open. On the same day, a Boeing 787-900 belonging to the French airline Air France had to divert its route and make an emergency landing at Iqaliuit, in the far north of Canada, after a burning smell was detected in the cabin.
