0-3 away at Voluntari. We get over the disappointment and continue the fight for the European cups – The awakening

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 5 p.m., the “Gabriela Szabo” Multipurpose Hall in Voluntari hosted the second game of the A1 Division play-off for women’s volleyball. In front of 200 spectators, the game was led by Alin Mateizer and Benone Vișan.

Lugoj tried to reverse the fate of the dispute with CSO Voluntari for qualification in the semi-finals of the national championship. The hosts started with the first chance, given that CSML has not won at Voluntari so far.

Unfortunately, CSOV proved once again to be a “tough nut” for Lugojence, who left the field defeated 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-12).

After a balanced first set, the second seemed to tilt the balance in favor of CSML. At 20-16 for Lugoj, the hosts called for Time Out, but the set was lost in overtime, 26-24. The fall in the third set reminded us of the end of the round match in Lugoj.

“Move on! Just as we achieved great victories and successes as a team, we also accept failures as a team. Part of sports, we don’t like them, but they strengthen us. Today we were betrayed by the end of the set and the lack of inspiration of our girls in those moments. We are moving forward, putting brick by brick for the future construction and fighting for qualification in a European cup. We will always be here for you and we expect you to stay with us even now, when it seems harder. It’s a shame that we don’t always fill the hall”, say the representatives of our club, after CSO Voluntari – CSM Lugoj 3-0.

The most points from CSML were scored by Yelizaveta Ruban (15), followed by Andra Artin and Aliona Martiniuc, 8p each, Mirta Grbac, 5p, and from the hosts, Ana Lazarevic won, 13p., followed by Heydi Casanova, Denisa Ionescu and Nikola Radosova, with 11p each.

We enter the tournament for places 5-8 and remain in the race for a European cup.
