45 children who were in the camp in Rânca were sent home early so that the mayor could accommodate his friends in the hotel unit

The indictment states that, in 2019, the “Apostol Arsache” Secondary School in Vedea commune, Giurgiu county, led by Tudor Cristina Daniela, qualified within a project financed by European funds through which its students were to benefit from a 7 days in Rânca Resort, Gorj county, activity which, due to the pandemic, was postponed until 2021.

Specifically, the camp was organized by SC Hofner Com SRL, between 5 and 11 July 2021, for 45 students and 5 companions, the group leader being the director of the “Apostol Arsache” Secondary School, Tudor Daniela Cristina.

When the group of children and teachers arrived at the boarding house, the students would have been informed that they would actually stay only 4 nights out of the total of 6.

On July 9, 2021, after the children left the camp, Țaga Marian would have stayed at the respective boarding house, until 11.07.2021, together with several people (relatives and friends), but without any of them paying any amount of money for accommodation and meals, these services being covered from the non-refundable funds intended for students, says DNA.

Also, between July 5 and 9, 2021, five other people would have stayed at the boarding house, invited by Tudor Daniela Cristina, the costs of accommodation and meals being covered from the non-refundable funds intended for students.

“Subsequently, on 12.07.2021, the mayor of Țaga Marian, together with the other defendants, natural persons, would have approved a record of receipt of summer camp organization services, in which he would have unrealistically certified that that activity would be carried out according to the conditions under which the European funds were obtained.

The said letter together with other documents were allegedly submitted by SC Hofner Com SRL to the Ministry of European Investments and Projects, which settled the sum of 53,298 lei, related to the organization of the camp. In the case, protective measures were ordered. The Ministry of European Investments and Projects has constituted a civil party with the amount mentioned above”, the cited source reports.
