Greta Thunberg and four other activists ended up in court after the police forcibly removed them on March 12 and 13 during a protest against the effects of climate change, a fact that the protesters believed was due to political inaction. Thunberg was fined 6,000 Swedish kroner ($550), the TT news agency reported.

A court official confirmed to Reuters that Greta Thunberg had been found guilty, but declined to comment on the amount of the penalty.

Greta Thunberg, aged 21, became the head of young climate activists, following her weekly protests, organized since 2018 near the Swedish parliament, turned into a global movement in which young people organized large protests on different continents.

Stockholm police said that although the activists had the right to protest in front of the National Assembly, they were removed because they were blocking the entrances.

In 2023, Thunberg was convicted twice in Sweden for disobeying police orders and was ordered to pay fines. In February, she was acquitted in Britain of a disorderly conduct case after a judge ruled that police had no right to arrest her and other young activists at a protest that took place in London in 2023.
