A FedEx Airlines Boeing aircraft landed at Istanbul airport on Wednesday without lowering the front of the landing gear but managed to stay on the runway, Turkey’s transport ministry said, citing Reuters.

The Boeing 767 aircraft, coming from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, informed the control tower of Istanbul Airport that it could not lower all the landing gear and asked for instructions.
The airport’s fire and rescue teams made the necessary preparations on the runway before landing, the ministry was quoted as saying, adding that no one was injured.
Images of the incident posted online show the front of the plane scraping the runway on landing in a cloud of sparks and smoke, and then being sprayed and covered with foam by firefighters.
The runway where the cargo plane landed was temporarily closed, but air traffic continued on the other runways, airport operator IGA said.
