Solskyi will be held in custody until June 24, if he does not pay the bail, set at 75.7 million Hr (1.9 million dollars), according to Suspilne.
Solskyi is suspected of the illegal appropriation of land owned by the Ukrainian state worth 291 million Hr (7.4 million dollars) and of trying to seize another land worth another 190 million Hr ( 4.8 million dollars), Kyiv Independent reports.
The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office of Ukraine (SAPO) announced on Thursday that it will request the arrest of Solskyi, with the alternative option of a bail of 200 million Hr (5 million dollars). The court reduced the requested bail more than twice.
If he pays bail, Solskyi will be required to wear an electronic bracelet and surrender his passport and other documents, Suspline wrote.
It seems that the minister was forbidden to leave Kyiv and to communicate with his deputy and the witnesses in this case.
Solskyi submitted his resignation to the Ukrainian parliament on Thursday, just a day after saying he had no plans to resign. It is expected that his resignation will be analyzed during the nearest plenary session.
Solskyi denied the accusations, stating that the file refers to the period 2017-2018, when he was a lawyer, not a minister.
