Emil Boc checked the works at Park & Ride in the field, together with the deputy mayor Dan Tarcea. The investment amounts to more than 14.5 million euros and 863 parking spaces will be built and 300 trees will be planted.
“I checked the works on the Park & Ride objective in the field today, together with Mr. Deputy Mayor Dan Tarcea. This parking lot will offer Cluj residents and visitors the opportunity to leave their cars here and go further to the city with public transport or other means of micromobility. Also, the investment is part of the intermodal transport hub in the airport area, which will develop with the completion of the metropolitan train and other infrastructure projects”, wrote Emil Boc on his Facebook page.
Also, the investment made by Cluj-Napoca City Hall includes:
- – setting up a parking platform and access from the national road;
- – arrangement of public transport stations
- – the construction of a bus station type terminal, including a building for the transport terminal, with a canopy for passengers and coaches
- – setting up a public square
- – 300 new trees planted.
Moreover, of the 863 parking spaces, 788 will be for cars, 37 spaces for disabled people and 30 spaces for electric and hybrid vehicles. At the same time, there will be 8 platforms for buses.
“Traian Vuia Street will be systematized as follows: Park&Ride access area, new roundabout, sidewalks, relocation of the public transport station. The value of the works execution contract is over 14.5 million euros, and the works are carried out by TCI Contractor General SA” Emil Boc also specified.
