Between May 3-6 this year, policemen of the Constanța Municipality Police acted with increased forces in the Mamaia resort, to prevent acts of violence and drug trafficking and consumption.

754 people were registered, 545 vehicles were checked, 419 drivers were tested with the breathalyzer and 77 were tested with the device provided, in order to establish indications regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances.

Following the detected irregularities, 46 contraventional sanctions were applied, in a total amount of approximately 26,000 lei.

Also, 22 driver’s licenses were detained with a view to suspension, three registration certificates and a set of plates with registration numbers were withdrawn, and 12 offenses were found.

Examples:

On May 4, at around 02.50, policemen from the Municipal Road Safety Service identified a 41-year-old man who was driving a car on Mamaia Boulevard, in the Mamaia resort, under the influence of alcoholic beverages. The man was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being 0.76 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. After testing with the device provided, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances. We note that this is not evidence in the criminal case, the person being taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately establish the consumption of prohibited substances and the alcohol level in the blood.

On May 5, around 2:30 a.m., police officers from the Municipal Road Safety Service identified a 34-year-old man who was driving a car on Mamaia boulevard, in the Mamaia resort, under the influence of alcoholic beverages. After testing with the device provided, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances. We note that this is not evidence in the criminal case, the person being taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately establish the consumption of prohibited substances.

Also, on May 6, around 00:30, police officers from the Mamaia Police Station identified a 27-year-old man, who had been listed as a missing person since May 3

The action was also attended by fighters from the Special Actions Service, as well as gendarmes from the Tomis Constanța Mobile Group of Gendarmes.
