The Russian army said on Friday that it hit a train in the Ukrainian region of Donetsk (east) that was carrying Western weapons delivered to Kiev, an announcement that came after a series of strikes on Ukrainian railways, reports AFP, News.ro reports.

“A train carrying weapons and Western military equipment was hit near the city of Udasnoe,” the Russian Defense Ministry said, without giving further details about the result of the strike.

“Operative-tactical aviation, missile units and artillery hit a shipment of Western military weapons and equipment near the town of Udasnoe in the Donetsk People’s Republic, personnel and equipment of the 67th mechanized brigade of the AFU (armed forces of Ukraine – no) at the loading station of the railway near the town of Balaklea, Kharkiv region, as well as personnel and equipment of the AFU in 112 areas”, stated the Russian ministry, quoted by TASS.

Also, a senior Ukrainian security official told Agence France-Presse at noon, on the condition of anonymity, that Moscow is bombing the Ukrainian railway network to “paralyze deliveries and transport of military cargo.”
