In the context of the May 1st and Easter mini-holiday, the policemen from Bihor were on duty, for public order and safety, the flow of road traffic and the prevention of victimization through various types of crimes. Almost 4,500 people were registered and more than 4,200 drivers were tested for alcohol or drugs, more than 900 sanctions were applied and 149 driving licenses were suspended.

More than 1,000 Bihor policemen were on duty, so that the mini-holiday on May 1st and Orthodox Easter could be spent safely by the citizens, and the demonstrations organized in Bihor County would take place without unwanted events.

To maintain order and public peace, between April 30 and May 6, over 110 pedestrian or car patrols acted daily.

36 preventive-reactive actions were carried out, in an integrated system, and 33 filters were carried out, within which 4,497 people were registered.

Also, 4,208 tests were carried out to detect the consumption of alcohol or drugs.

Bihor policemen intervened in 413 events, of which 402 were reported through 112.

Thus, 133 crimes were reported, of which 57 against the person, 47 against property, 16 crimes under the road safety regime and 13 crimes of another nature.

Also, 31 people were caught in the act, investigated for committing crimes, and two wanted people were found.

The police officers from Bihor applied 916 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 479,540 lei.

As complementary measures, 149 driving licenses were suspended, of which 23 were due to the consumption of alcohol or other prohibited substances, 84 were for exceeding the legal speed limits, 10 were for illegal overtaking, and 59 registration certificates were withdrawn. .

During this period, on a daily basis, traffic and public order police acted on the national roads to streamline road traffic and prevent the occurrence of serious events.

The policemen from Bihor will continue their actions in the next period as well, to prevent antisocial acts and ensure public order and peace.

The traffic police act with priority to detect those who exceed the legal speed, using the equipment provided by the Romanian Police, to monitor road traffic and measure the speed of vehicles.

Following the preliminary testing, with the device provided, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances.

We note that this is not evidence in the criminal case, the person being taken to a medical unit, for the collection of biological samples, in order to establish the blood alcohol level and the consumption of prohibited substances.

In the case, a criminal file was drawn up, and the policemen of the Bihor Road Service are continuing the investigations regarding the commission of crimes driving a vehicle on public roads under the influence of alcoholic beverages and driving a vehicle on public roads by a person who was under the influence of psychoactive substances, under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea Court.

On April 6, at 8:33 p.m., on county road 191/B, in Borumlaca township, Bihor county, the policemen of Marghita Rural Police Section no. 4 spotted a 50-year-old local man in traffic while he was driving a car, having an alcohol concentration of 1.19 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air.

Also, on May 3, at 8:16 p.m., on DN19, in the town of Săcueni, Bihor county, the policemen from the Săcueni City Police spotted a 49-year-old man in traffic, from the town of Cadea, Bihor county, while was driving a car, having an alcohol concentration of 0.63 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air.

Biological samples were collected from the drivers in order to determine their blood alcohol level.

In both cases, a criminal case was drawn up, and the police are continuing the investigation into the crime of driving a vehicle on public roads under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

On May 3, at around 4:25 p.m., on DN76, in the town of Sânmartin, Bihor county, the policemen from the Băile Felix police station spotted a 44-year-old man in traffic, from the municipality of Oradea, Bihor county, while he was driving an unregistered car and having an alcohol concentration of 0.61 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air.

Biological samples were taken from the driver to determine his blood alcohol level.

A criminal case has been drawn up in the case, and investigations are continuing.

Criminal investigation for driving without a license or with a suspended license

On May 3, at 4:35 p.m., on communal road 54, at the exit from the town of Alparea, Bihor county, the policemen of Section No. 5 of the Oradea Rural Police spotted a 28-year-old man in traffic, from the town of Sântelec, Bihor county , while driving a car, without having a driving license for any vehicle category.

Also, on May 6, at 06.45, on Matei Corvin street in Oradea municipality, Bihor county, the policemen of the Road Service – National and European Roads Office spotted a 38-year-old man from Oradea in traffic, while he was driving a van, having suspended the right to drive motor vehicles on public roads.

At the same time, on May 2, at 11:05 p.m., on a street in the town of Sălard, Bihor county, the policemen of Section No. 3 of the Biharia Rural Police spotted a 17-year-old local man in traffic while driving a moped, without having a driving license for any vehicle category.

In each of the cases, a criminal case was drawn up, and the investigations continue.

On May 4, at 9:30 p.m., on a public road in the town of Petreu, Bihor county, the policemen of the Marghita Road Bureau detected a 25-year-old local man in traffic, while he was driving an unregistered car.

A criminal case has been drawn up in the case, and investigations are continuing.

Detained by the police, after being spotted in traffic, while driving under the influence of alcohol

On May 1, following the administration of the evidence, the policemen of the Bihor Road Service ordered the detention, for 24 hours, in the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center of the Bihor County Police Inspectorate against a 56-year-old man, from the municipality of Oradea, Bihor county, suspected of committing the crime of driving a vehicle on public roads by a person who was under the influence of alcohol.

On April 30, at around 10:15 p.m., on Sfântul Apostol Andrei street in the municipality of Oradea, he was detected in traffic by the policemen of the Oradea Road Bureau, while driving a car, with an alcohol concentration of 1.04 mg/l pure alcohol in exhaled air.

Biological samples were taken from the driver to determine his blood alcohol level.

The police officers of the Bihor Road Service continue the investigations in the case under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Oradea Court.
