The fire that killed 29 people on Tuesday,during illegal work in a nightclub in Istanbul, he was provoked by welders working in the area, according to a video recording published by the Turkish interior minister on Wednesday, cites AFP.

In the images captured by the surveillance cameras, a worker with a welding lamp is welding a metal object when, suddenly, high flames erupt, accompanied by thick smoke.
“The investigation (…) into the incident continues,” Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said in a message posted along with the video on the X social network.
The town hall in the Besiktas district, where the fire occurred, said on Tuesday that it had not received “any request for authorization” from the nightclub owners or the contractor “regarding a possible renovation of the premises”.
Nine people have been arrested over the fire, including the owner and manager of the nightclub and the owner of the metalworking firm responsible for the work, the Istanbul governorate said.
The Masquerade Club, a large nightclub, was located in the basement of a 16-story apartment building in the Gayrettepe district. According to Yerlikaya, none of the residents who were present when the fire broke out at noon on Tuesday are among the dead.
