The name of the famous French billionaire Bernarn Arnault has become synonymous with the world of luxury. The 75-year-old CEO of French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, or LVMH for short, has built his fortune over nearly four decades, creating an empire that includes some of the world’s best-known brands from fashion, jewelery and alcohol, including Louis Vuitton, TAG Heuer and Dom Pérignon.
In March, he regained the title of the world’s richest person and now has a net worth of more than $220 billion, after LVMH shares recently rose and brought the French billionaire another six billion dollars in accounts overnight, writes Bloomberg.
Most of Arnault’s fortune comes from a 48% stake in LVHM, the world’s largest luxury goods maker. He holds these shares through entities associated with Financiere Agache, a Paris-based firm that oversees Arnault and his family’s investments, according to LVMH’s 2023 annual report.
