“Ioan N. Roman” Constanța County Library organizes the conference “Cardinal points in the social system” on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., in the Library Hall. From success to resilience”. The protagonists of the dialogue will be Victor Alistar (associate university professor – National School of Political and Administrative Studies) and Alin Daniel Piroscă (associate university lecturer – Romanian-American University). The historian and literary critic prof. skilled dr. Angelo Mitchievici, the director of the Library, will be the host and dialogue partner of the two guests.

In the face of any current challenges, the reactions and actions of each of us are filtered through the system in which we build our existence. One thing is certain: in relation to what the “surrounding environment” of life proposes, whether we are talking about history, economy, institutions, tradition, administration, we must assume that each of us builds our life through our own person. It’s something that ethics reiterates and reminds, subtly, every time. Located in the social gear, the individual is contained, like a prisoner, in a complex network of administrative measures, institutions, decisions, laws. The device represents, as Foucault remarked, the network established between these points. And this device has a strategic function and falls within a power relationship.

The conference “Cardinal points in the social device. From success to resilience” proposes a reinterpretation of a current paradigm of subjective positioning towards the poles of current existence. The multiple approaches to the subject, from philosophical reflection and psychological approach to fixation in the social and administrative constituent will lead to multiple and interdisciplinary debates on a vast subject.

The events organized within the “Ioan N. Roman” Constanța County Library are promoted both on the institution’s website, https://bjconstanta.ro/, and on its Facebook page.
