Terrible accident on the A1 highway – driver cut in two – Timisoara Stiri live

A shocking road accident happened on the A1 highway.

A 38-year-old driver died on the spot, after he lost control of the steering wheel and drove his car into the divider.

The metal slide simply pierced the vehicle from end to end.

The car was traveling at high speed on the wet asphalt, the police say. The driver heading towards Pitesti lost control of the steering wheel at kilometer 82.

The car spun on the road, witnesses say, then hit the slide that separates the lanes.

The metal profile entered through the nose of the car and exited through the trunk. The body of the man behind the wheel was dissected, and the man died on the spot.

The police will have to find out the speed of the car and if that safety slide complied with the building regulations or if it was damaged. A forensic expert in road accident analysis has an explanation:

Virgil Lauric, forensic expert in the analysis of road accidents: “It seems that the slide was hit by a car, which was in a disorderly movement. There were no screws to hold the slide together, either they were weak or they didn’t exist at all. One of the panels of the slide went sideways, so the car was able to enter the next slide which pierced it starting from the central area.”

Drivers passing on the A1 highway claim that the accident is related to speed and not to the lane divider, which in many cases has saved lives.
