  • The Bucharest Stock Exchange has launched a new edition of the program dedicated to the promotion of Romanian entrepreneurial companies, which, starting this year, will be called BVB Arena.

Starting yesterday, BVB Arena is launched on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). What is BVB Arena? BVB Arena is the scholarship program initiated since 2017 under the name Made in Romania, a program dedicated to identifying and promoting successful local entrepreneurial companies. With the launch of the new edition in the event that took place today, the new name and new visual identity of the program were presented. The new identity and the new name, BVB Arena, places, from a visual point of view, this emblematic program dedicated to Romanian entrepreneurs under the umbrella of BVB projects. Moreover, they reinforce the declared mission of the BVB to position itself as the main financing channel for Romanian companies and to promote companies that contribute to the development of the local economy, encouraging them to be part of the BVB “Arena”. BVB Arena, through the online platform www.bvbarena.ro, will continue to be the place where Romanian entrepreneurs can meet investors, consultants and other entrepreneurs.

Also today, the book “Made in Romania: 15 companies for the growth of the Romanian economy and their success stories” was launched, which includes the entrepreneurial stories of the finalists of the program from 2023. The 15 finalist companies in the last edition are: Adrem, Amber, Apidava , Ascendia, Bookster, Chic Bijoux, Croco, Exonia, Farmacia Tei, Fiterman Pharma, Grup Şerban, Kinderpedia, Mobexpert, QFORT and Ultragreens. On the YouTube channel of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, you can listen to the podcast dedicated to the program, which presents the stories of these companies told by those who founded them.

The launch of the book and the announcement of the rebranding of the program, which took place during today’s event, kick off the BVB Arena 2024 edition under the slogan “We train the Romanian capital”.

“Just as Romanian entrepreneurship evolves from year to year, so does our flagship program dedicated to identifying and promoting Romanian companies. Starting today, all local companies that have been part of the program over time, along with those that will join the program in the future, will be part of the «BVB Arena» community. We are pleased that, through the program, we have discovered over time companies with huge development potential, which have grown nicely, and we are eager to welcome the following local companies that can become the engine of the Romanian economy to the BVB Arena. As today’s event officially marks the end of the previous edition of the program, I would like to once again congratulate the 15 finalist companies”declared Radu Hanga, BVB President.

We are proud of the results of the program so far and I am convinced that we will discover real success stories among the future companies that will join the program, and we at BVB will be ready to give them the support they need for further development through scholarship”, said Adrian Tănase, BVB CEO.

What are the stages of BVB Arena 2024?

The BVB Arena program is structured in several stages, the first taking place between April 23 and May 31, in which entrepreneurs, the community formed around the companies, employees and partners, as well as members of the Nomination Committee can register on the www.bvbarena platform. ro the company in whose potential I believe. Romanian companies that have at least 51% resident natural and/or legal persons in the shareholder structure, companies from all industries and of all sizes with a minimum condition of 3 years of activity or that in the last year reported turnover can be nominated in the program be at least 250,000 euros. In the second stage dedicated to the month of June, the selection period of 50 semi-finalist companies carried out by the Nomination Committee will take place, followed by the period 1-31 July, in which the public will vote for the favorite company. Among the 15 companies, the public vote will determine the first 3 winners of the 2024 edition. On August 1, the Jury will meet to select the other 12 finalist companies. In September, the BVB Arena 2024 Finalist Award Gala will be organized.

Another stage of the program, which will take place between October and November 2024, is dedicated to the Mentorship Program in which finalist and semi-finalist companies, companies nominated in the current edition or registered in the program platform will be able to participate. The last stage of the edition is represented by the writing of the book that contains the success stories of this year’s finalists, a book that will be launched at the beginning of next year.

The project was launched in 2017, and the 6 editions gathered over 1,200 companies that were nominated in the program and 20 semi-finalist and finalist companies that used the tools provided by BVB. The total value of the 37 rounds of share financing and bond issues at the BVB carried out by the 20 companies exceeded the amount of 236 million euros.
