The official announcement of the candidacy was made during a press conference held on Tuesday. Lidia Vadim Tudor comes to the electoral competition with an impressive track record, having solid experience in the fields of journalism and psychology.

Starting from 2005, Lidia holds the position of editor-in-chief of the România Mare Magazine, a publication associated with the party founded by her father. She also completed her studies in journalism at Spiru Haret University and obtained a degree in psychology from the same higher education institution.

Lidia Vadim Tudor will compete with Adrian Vigheciu from the PSD-PNL alliance, Alexandru Dimitriu representing the USR (United Right Alliance) and Vlad Popescu from the PPUSL. However, the greatest attention seems to be directed to the electoral confrontation between Lidia Vadim Tudor and the son of the former mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone, who announced his entry into the race for the Capital City Hall.

“We all know Sector 5 as having two eternal characteristics, as it were: the smallest and poorest sector of Bucharest. In my career in the Administration I had a short experience at the Town Hall of Sector 5 and I managed to find out then how great the need is for serious investments and serious approaches in sector 5. I learned that it is needed from the regeneration of the famous disadvantaged areas that made us negative publicity at the international level, the famous Aleea Livezilor, the Andrei lacob area, and we could list many more, up to the need to bring back the charm of the Cotroceni neighborhood or the central area of the sector. (…)

In Sector 5 we have schools that close because they are invaded by bedbugs, and this reflects a lack of investment that has lasted for years in the sector with schools where work begins and which are practically abandoned as the years go by, crowding the schools with learning in two or in three shifts. A serious and courageous approach is needed, a mayor who is not afraid of European funds is needed, it is another element that has characterized the administration of Sector 5 for many years”said Mihai Enache, the AUR candidate for Bucharest City Hall, according to Media Fax.
