On Monday, police officers from the 25th Police Department in Bucharest detained two men, both aged 45, against whom investigations are being carried out in a criminal case of fraud, the damage being 10,000 lei.
The investigations were triggered on January 25, 2024, when the 25th Police Department was notified by a 90-year-old man about the fact that he was the victim of a fraud crime.

Thus, from the investigations carried out, the hypothesis emerged that the suspect of committing the act would be a 45-year-old man. On January 25, 2024, around 12.00, while he was in the parking lot in front of a block in Sector 6, he would have approached the injured person, after which, taking advantage of her advanced age, he would have misled her , by presenting for sale several jewels made of yellow metal, which he allegedly claimed were made of gold, causing the victim to purchase them for the sum of 10,000 lei. It was later determined that the jewelry was of a common metal.
Also, following the expansion of the investigations, it was determined that another man, of the same age, 45 years old, would have participated in the commission of the act.
Detect after more than two months and detain
On April 1, 2024, the two men were found and taken to interrogations.
Based on the evidence administered, the measure of detention was ordered against those in question, for 24 hours, later the prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District Court 6 formulating a proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days.
The investigations are being continued by the policemen of the 25th Police Department, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 6th District Court, under the aspect of committing the crime of fraud.
