A violent fire broke out last evening, in a household in the town of Hilișeu Cloșca.
Mother and son pulled from the flames
When she saw the flames, the landlady called for help, but a summer kitchen and animal stable were already on fire.
Firefighters from the Dorohoi Detachment went to the scene, with three special fire trucks, an SMURD ambulance and one from the County Ambulance Service (SAJ), as well as the Hilișeu-Horia Voluntary Service for Emergency Situations.
Firefighters acted to extinguish the fire, which appeared on an area of approximately 85 square meters, and protected the house, built in the same yard, the feed store and the wood store from the flames. A cow, two goats, a horse and several birds were saved.
The owner, a 74-year-old woman, as well as her 48-year-old son, suffered panic attacks, being picked up and transported to the hospital for specialized medical care.

To eliminate the risk of fire that may occur during the operation of the stoves, observe the following recommendations:
- place a metal box in front of wood-burning stoves: this will ensure protection against the accidental falling of burning wood or embers, which could set fire to nearby combustible materials;
- put out the fire before leaving the house and do not fall asleep with the fire lit in the stove;
- during operation, do not leave the stove door open;
- do not place combustible materials in the spaces between the stove and the wall;
- do not insert wood longer than the hearth into the stove;
- do not use other combustible materials than those for which the stove was intended and avoid overloading it.
