The PSD senator, Bogdan Matei, spoke about the pension law, in the Politica Zilei show, moderated by Ioana Constantin, on B1 TV, and said that no one can know today, concretely, how many pensioners will benefit from the pension increase after the September recalculation , until the software is implemented.

“We cannot advance any figures and any real calculations, because the calculation formula for each of us differs”

“This law has given rise to many discussions. Also in your show, there were many more pensioners who will not benefit from any increase now, then the number of pensioners who would not have benefited from this increase decreased, after the recalculation. Here we are again reaching a much higher percentage of pensioners who would not benefit from this increase.

I think that Mrs. Zarvescu (president of Olt Pensioners Association) said very clearly, nobody can know today, concretely, how many pensioners will benefit from this increase until the software is implemented and the recalculation in accordance with the calculation formula passed in the law . So, from my perspective, beyond countless discussions, we cannot advance any figures and any real calculations, because the calculation formula for each of us differs according to seniority, work group and so on.

What is sad, from what Madam President says, is that it was not very clearly understood and there are certain inequities in what the working groups mean. Here is a big problem, we know very well that we have the vast majority of retirees who have worked in these work groups, group I, group II, special groups and so on, over the years. Here, from this perspective, I think that those who are in charge of managing this problem should come with much more clarifications, but also with clarifications in what the rules of application mean, that this is what we are actually talking about”explained the senator.

“If the law has an unclear text, I can accept it and it certainly takes much longer to modify it. And I think the time is much too short, compared to what we proposed – September 1, the actual application, but we know very well that the deadline is a month earlier, come with them recalculated. But I think that from the perspective of the rules of application we should have a lot more detail, so that we try to calm down a lot of these people who, quite rightly, ‘well, guys, I’ve worked for 30 years, what are you doing with me? Do I get more, don’t I get more?’
