A fatal road accident took place today on DN 39, in Mangalia.
According to the statements of Dr. Claudia Tatarici, spokesperson of the Constanța County Ambulance Service (SAJ), two ambulances and a SMURD ambulance were mobilized to the scene of the incident following a call received during the morning.
At the scene, the intervention teams discovered two patients with major polytrauma, both in critical condition. The victims were initially transported to Mangalia Hospital. Unfortunately, one of the patients suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest during the transfer to Constanta County Hospital and despite resuscitation efforts by the SAJ crew, he was pronounced dead. He was only 27 years old.
“The second patient, still in critical condition, required the additional intervention of a SMURD crew with a doctor to be transported to Constanța County Hospital,” said Dr. Claudia Tatarici.
He, aged 23, had his phalanges amputated, says the doctor. He is in a comatose state.

“On April 30 this year, around 7:45 a.m., policemen from the Road Safety Service were alerted to the fact that a road accident occurred on DN 39, in the municipality of Mangalia.
The police officers sent to the scene found that a 27-year-old man was driving a car, lost control of the direction, and the car collided with a pole.
As a result of the road accident, the driver and a passenger, respectively a 23-year-old man, were seriously injured.
Both were transported to the hospital.
Biological samples were taken from the driver to determine his blood alcohol level and the possible consumption of psychoactive substances.
In the case, a criminal investigation file was drawn up for the commission of the crime of culpable bodily harm.”
