A serious incident alerted the authorities in Brăila and beyond. A military drone crashed last night, just 7 kilometers from the city. So far, the five drones discovered on the territory of our country have fallen in wild or very sparsely populated areas, but this time we are talking about approaching a city of 150,000 inhabitants. A Ministry of Defense helicopter, the Anti-Terrorism Brigade of the SRI and several teams from the Police and Gendarmerie have now surrounded the perimeter and are investigating. A crater several meters in diameter was formed there. Before the crash, several citizens saw and filmed the drone flying over.

Investigations are being carried out on the spot. In Insula Mare a Brailei there are representatives of the Army and SRI officers, who are picking up the fragments of the drone to be analyzed and to determine what kind of unmanned aerial device it was.

The military drone fell 7 km away from Brăila municipality. The fragments were discovered last evening, when the alarm was raised. All the heads of the institutions that have attributions in such situations were summoned to an emergency meeting. The access roads leading to that place were also blocked last night. The police crews also blocked the secondary roads.

The crater formed as a result of the impact with the ground is a considerable one, having a diameter of approximately 4 meters. It is not yet known when that drone fell there.

The Osa-AKM is specifically designed to shoot down aircraft and drones, such as those used by the Russians on our borders, Shahed-136 or Geranium-2. These systems fly at low altitudes, carry up to 200 kilograms of ammunition and do not exceed speeds of 190 kilometers per hour.
