Bus With 46 People Crashes From Bridge In South Africa. An 8-year-old child, the only one above

The incident happened on Thursday on the R518 in the Waterberg district of Limpopo, in northeastern South Africa. As a result of the impact and the flames, 45 of the 46 people on the bus died.

The only survivor is an 8-year-old child, who was picked up by the medical crews who arrived at the scene of the incident and transported to the nearest hospital in the area.

“The driver lost control of the car and hit the security barriers on the bridge. The bus fell from the bridge and hit the ground, where it caught fire. The incident resulted in the death of 45 people”, said the spokesperson of the Limpopo Ministry of Transport and Community Security, Florence Radzilani, who arrived at the scene of the accident.

According to local authorities, the passengers on the bus were traveling from Botswana to the town of Moria in Limpopo province to attend the service on the first day of Catholic Easter.

The South African Minister of Transport, Sindisiwe Chikunga, announced an extensive investigation to establish the causes of the tragedy.
