And on February 24, 2022, the Russian occupiers occupied the industrial platform of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant – this is how the whole world learned about a new act of nuclear terrorism committed at the behest of the Kremlin.

We invite you to read about the Chernobyl accident and how it recovers after the occupation in our investigation.

On the night of April 25 to 26, 1986, an explosion occurred at the fourth power unit at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This led to the release of a huge amount of radioactive substances into the atmosphere and increased radiation levels. Two days after the accident, the safety system of the Swedish nuclear power plant Forsmark reported high levels of radiation in the environment.

However, at first the Swedes did not understand what the source was. Based on the direction of the wind, it has been suggested that hazardous particles were brought in from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, where an accident probably occurred.

We mention here that the Forsmark nuclear power plant is at a distance of about 1,100 kilometers from that of Chernobyl.
