Tate, 36, his brother Tristan, 34, and the two women are charged with human trafficking, rape and the formation of an organized crime group, all of whom were remanded in custody for 30 days on December 30.

Luana Radu graduated from the Romanian Police Academy, but was only a police officer for about four years before leaving the system in 2014 to earn more money from video chat.

According to Romanian law, she was obliged to submit an annual declaration of wealth, to prove her financial situation. Her last such statement, before leaving the Police in 2014, showed she had less than £400 to her name.
