Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 8a smartphone on May 14, and its specifications were recently confirmed by Android Headlines.

The Pixel 8a will come with the Tensor G3 processor and will have a 6.1-inch FullHD+ OLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The screen refresh rate and maximum brightness have been improved compared to the Pixel 7a model, reaching 120Hz and , 2,000 nits.

The battery capacity has also been increased from 4,385 mAh to 4,492 mAh, which could be rounded up to 4,500 mAh in the marketing materials. It is claimed that Google will advertise this phone as having up to 24+ hours of battery life, or even up to 72 hours with Extreme Battery Saver mode enabled. The smartphone will also support Qi wireless charging, writes GSM Arena.

The Pixel 8a will get seven years of updates

According to previous reports, the Pixel 8a will get seven years of security updates, but sources indicate that it will not only receive security updates, but also OS upgrades and feature updates.

The camera system of the Pixel 8a will be similar to that of the Pixel 7a – a 64MP main camera with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 13MP selfie camera. However, it will include new camera features such as Magic Editor, Best Take and Ultra HDR.
