Apple officially launched its first mixed reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro, in the United States on February 2. It comes with a rich offering of over 600 specially optimized apps and games, plus over a million compatible apps already available through iOS and iPadOS.
The new device promises a unique experience, with streaming apps like Disney+ and Warner Bros Discovery’s Max adapted to take advantage of the Vision Pro’s spatial interface. Gaming enthusiasts will also have access to more than 250 titles from Apple Arcade, according to TechCrunch.
Susan Prescott, Vice President of Developer Relations at Apple, emphasized the transformative impact of the new apps: “They will reinvent the way we interact with entertainment, music and games, stimulate creativity through new ways of learning and exploration, enhance productivity and more others.”
The most popular apps on Apple Vision Pro
Apps and games available on Apple Vision Pro include PGA TOUR Vision, NBA, MLB, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, NBC Sports, Peacock, FOX Sports and UFC. Some titles will be available in 4K resolution, complemented by Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos 2.
In the productivity sector, Vision Pro integrates applications such as Microsoft 365, Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Notion and Todoist, facilitating efficient task management. Gaming enthusiasts will be able to enjoy Apple Arcade titles such as Super Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope 3, Jetpack Joyride 2 and Bloons TD 6+.
For shopping, users will have access to apps like J.Crew Virtual Closet and Mytheresa: Luxury Experience. The offer also extends to the music and wellness area, with apps like NowPlaying, STAGE+, Healium and Lungy: Spaces.
The device is available in the US at a starting price of $3,499 for the 256GB variant.
