However, it seems that users of Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 FE and S23 Ultra phones are experiencing a strange issue with the fingerprint sensor. I have details below.
The information surfaced on Reddit, where several users confirmed that there is a serious problem with the fingerprint sensor. It seems that it only responds after a few tries, with the phone having a harder time unlocking than in the past. Here’s how a Galaxy S23 user explains the problem:
“There is no error, the fingerprint icon animation reappears once I touch the screen and I have to touch that part again to unlock the phone; I feel like the sensor basically ignores the finger and forces me to pick it up and touch that part again without giving me any error.”
It seems that the problem only affects users of Galaxy S23 series phones. With many users complaining about the inconvenience, it looks like Samsung needs to fix the bug soon. A user found a solution until an official update from Samsung. If you enter the area of settings -> security and privacy -> impressionyou have the option to hide the unlock animation.
Thus it seems that the sensor returns to normal and unlocking the phone is done quickly.
