Apple is bringing major updates to the design and sizes of the iPhone 16 series, with a focus on the Pro and Pro Max models, which will be offered in larger sizes.
According to recent images of iPhone 16 series mockups, the size differences between the standard and Pro models are noticeable, with the Pro model having a larger screen and camera module. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are expected to grow by 0.2 inches diagonally, reaching dimensions comparable to the transition seen between the iPhone 11 Pro Max and 12 Pro Max generations.
The company thus seems to respond to the increased demand for phones with larger screens, an obvious trend in the global smartphone market, notes GSM Arena.
The major update to the Pro models is the camera upgrade, which now includes a 5x zoom and a higher-resolution ultrawide camera. Also, the design of the camera module, which is identical for the Pro and Pro Max, contributes to the increase in the size of the devices.
What other news does the iPhone 16 series come with?
As for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models, they retain the current dimensions, but return to an earlier design of the camera module, with the lenses placed vertically. The camera module is more compact and the flash is positioned separately on the right side.
Another innovation is the introduction of the Capture Button, a button located on the side that will facilitate photo and video capture, offering quick focus and zoom functions.
This button will be available on all models of the iPhone 16 series, marking a first for Apple. The base models will also benefit from the Action Button, a feature already present on the iPhone 15 series.
