Two new generations of Apple tablets are being prepared for release in May, targeting the iPad Pro and iPad Air series.
Apple will launch, in May, new iPad Pro and iPad Air tablets, according to Bloomberg, which cites anonymous sources within the company.
The new iPad Pros will come with OLED screens and M3 chips, like those already equipped with the company’s laptops, and will probably be promoted as the most powerful tablets developed by the company so far.
And the iPad Air will use a new chipset, but Bloomberg sources do not say what it will be. It will most likely not be the M3, which the company could reserve for the Pro series, which is also the most expensive.
The iPad Air will make the switch to a 12.9-inch screen, a significant increase as it will be the first time this series jumps from 10.9 inches.
The May release is notable given that Apple hasn’t released any new tablets since 2023. Last year was the first year that Apple, focused on the Vision Pro headset, didn’t release new iPads.
