Jaqueline Cristian continues the excellent form she has shown in recent weeks and tonight she qualified for the 3rd round of the 1000 points competition in Madrid after an all-important win over the Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
In the qualifiers, Jaqueline Cristian managed to overcome McCartney Kessler and Daria Saviile, and then, in the first round, to beat Frech (51 WTA), after a fabulous streak of 11 consecutive games won.
In the second round of the competition in the Spanish capital, our player beat Barbora Krejcikova (27 WTA) in three sets, after losing the first set of the duel.
The player from the Czech Republic started this match much better and won her opening leg 6-2 before Jaqueline took control of the game and qualified for the round of 16.

After losing the first set 2-6, Cristian entered the court much more prepared, and the second set was uneventful.
At 3-0 at the start of the second set, Jaqueline needed the doctor’s intervention, after some eye problems, but everything was resolved, and our athlete continued to play very well and ended the set clearly, 6-0, without give the opponent a chance.
In the decider, Jaqueline lost her serve quite quickly, but managed the rebreak and equalized the situation at 2. From 2 equal, Cristian went to 4-2 and then to 5-2, taking a serious option to victory and qualification to the next round of the competition.
The game ended with the success of the Romanian, who, despite a more difficult start, stormed the court in the next two sets, which she clearly won, 6-0, 6-2.
Further, in the third round of the Madrid Open, Jaqueline Cristian will duel with the winner of the match Danielle Collins – Olga Danilovic. In case of a success in the 3rd round, Jaqueline could meet Aryna Sabalenka, the world number 2, in the round of 16.
