“FCSB is a closed topic for me!”

In the summer of 2022, Marius Șumudică was one step away from signing with FCSB. Gigi Becali had accepted all the conditions of the coach who was going to collect approximately 500,000 euros, including the performance bonuses. But Şumudica changed his mind. Three months later, he declared: “I was a fool for thinking with my heart and soul!”.

How has the situation changed since two years ago? Asked by Ovidiu Ioanițoaia if he would accept an offer from FCSB, Şumudica answered briefly: “Not! It’s a closed topic for me. There is no point in opening this topic. Not! Clear!”.

Marius Șumudică: “Over 85 percent of FCSB are champions”

Asked what are the chances of FCSB winning the title in this Super League season, Şumudica stated that “more than 85 percent is a champion”.

“Now it depends on what will happen, because the other teams will mess with each other. If they’ll be smart and play some even matches to keep the rest down, it’s a pretty big lead,” the coach added.

Which drew a parallel to the year he was “main” at Astra won his title: “We went in with five points when we went into the play-offs and took the championship. It was enough. They get confused with each other”.
