Joining the Schengen Area with air borders has greatly reduced the waiting time at our airports.

The Antena 3 CNN team wanted to see how simple it is, but especially how much time travelers save after escaping passport control.

Radu Tiliţă, Antena 3 CNN journalist, did an experiment.

He wanted to see how much time we save now, when we no longer have to wait in the long queues that formed at the counters where our passports were checked.

With Romania’s partial entry into the Schengen Area, the protocol for checking identity cards was eliminated.

The times spent at the airport have decreased significantly.

It took 15 minutes from the baggage security check until the Antena 3 CNN journalist arrived at the boarding gate.

Normally we would have added 15-30 minutes for the document verification control.

After more than an hour and a half, the Antena 3 CNN team arrived in the Austrian capital.

Saving time was one hour.

The Antena 3 CNN team wanted to see how the arrival process from a Schengen Area member country at Henri Coandă Airport is carried out.

After landing, the Airport was crossed in less than 10 minutes.

Politicians promise that by the end of this year they will convince Austria that our country has full rights in the Schengen Area.
