First results in the case of the 4-year-old girl who died after eating frozen mackerel. What was discovered during the analysis

The first test results in the case of the 4-year-old girl who died after eating fish came Thursday. The analyzes of the samples taken by DSV from the village store in Călărași show that the fish was infested with bacteria above normal limits.

Several samples were taken from both the store and the respective family’s refrigerator – two samples of frozen minnows and one of frozen mackerel. In the case of these three samples, values ​​above the acceptable limit of enterobacteriaceae came out. That means bacteria like klebsiella or salmonella, which can cause serious illness if they end up in food, as happened in this case.

The results of three other samples taken by the DSV are also awaited – most likely during the day on Friday.

Inspectors from the Directorate of Public Health have also taken samples, but so far no result has been communicated.

DSV closed that store for a period of 30 days, and the administrator was fined 20,000 lei, because he was selling fish without a sanitary-veterinary permit.

The 4-year-old girl from a locality in Călărași county died after allegedly eating frozen mackerel bought from the village store. The grandmother, who was hospitalized after also feeling sick after the meal, had a heart attack and also died when she received the news of her niece’s death.

The girl’s grandfather also arrived at the hospital, but at the moment his condition is stable.
