Schemes to tick the state and the green spaces recovered by the mayor of Sector 2, Radu Mihaiu

It’s a reality – since the Revolution, Sector 2 has been effectively destroyed and robbed of green spaces throughout all PSD mandates. Many lands once in the public domain have been reverted “with song”.

Too many ended up in the hands of real estate brokers, specialized in buying litigious rights for three-quarters and selling them on at much higher prices. And other lands ended up in the hands of charlatans well connected with PSD politicians and came into the possession of real estate sharks.

However, there is also the phenomenon of the schnapani, who, with the protection of the PSD and through administrative tricks, have personally taken pieces of the sector’s parks for the flourishing of their own business. It is no wonder that now, they join hands to support the PSD candidate for the City Hall of Sector 2. It is the way of preserving the privilege of illegally taking possession of the parks of Sector 2.

The “President” case (former Brotăcei restaurant) in Tei Park is a “school” example of mistreatment of green space. A former director of urban planning from the City Hall of Sector 2, who became a personal adviser to the mayors of Pesedist Onțanu and Toader, arrested for taking bribes in the 2000s, took a substantial piece of Tei Park, deforested it and concreted it without right and without authorization .

“We documented every detail in the mechanism. It was not an easy case, because the smart guys knew how to cover themselves with papers and insert small bombs in documents to defend their interests. But we have a consistent record. And last year we issued dissolution orders and moved to the demolition stage. We are talking about the illegal concreting of 2,752 square meters of the park, which have turned into money-making machines – a 199 square meter pool, a 1,100 square meter parking lot, 3 terraces of 1,343 square meters, a 76 square meter stage and a 34 square meter bar. We continue to judge ourselves, we have also started a process for bringing to the original state. As we prove, we also terminate the harmful contract for the community”, declares the mayor of USR, Radu Mihaiu.

Other cases concerned the National Park, where after 2 years of lawsuits the mayor of sector 2 managed to recover over 5,000 square meters illegally used by politically protected tricksters.

“We are talking about several sports fields and green spaces in the National Park, which rightfully belong to the residents of Sector 2. They were put into operation, as early as 2003, free of charge, to politically screwed private individuals, close to the previous PSD administrations. And they were obviously making unhindered profits. The state’s ticking scheme was always the same: every 5 years, their contract was extended without any trouble.

The same administrator was transitioning from a commercial company to a non-profit foundation and his contract was extended for another 7 years. That’s right, in Sector 2 the non-profit foundation was making a profit with state properties. And the toupee is even bigger. With expired contracts, with definitive eviction sentences given by the Court, these specials did not want to give up the cash cow. In the end, we went with the bailiff to evict them”, explains Radu Mihaiu.

In total, more than 5,000 square meters of sports fields and green spaces in the National Park were recovered. In a first stage, the sports fields, located right in the heart of the park – a football field and a tennis field – were recovered. A total of 2,500 square meters of the park,
