In June last year, a puppy died due to sunstroke, being left in a car parked in Bascov commune. On the 7th of May, the police officers from the Argeș Animal Protection Bureau completed their investigations and submitted the file to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Pitesti Court, with a proposal to send it to court.

Thus, the woman risks being sent to court for committing the crime of “killing animals, with intention, without right”.

We remind you that, on June 22, 2023, the policemen of the Bascov Rural Police Department and the local police officers notified themselves of the fact that there was a dog inside a parked car, in high temperature conditions.

From the investigations, it was determined that a 32-year-old woman from Merișani left the car parked on the Bascov commune, around 10:45, with a small canine inside the car, without leaving the windows open.

At around 2:30 p.m., the representatives of the Argeș Emergency Situations Inspectorate broke the window of one of the car doors and took the animal out.

The dog was unconscious, with specific signs of heatstroke. He was taken over by the police officers of the Animal Protection Bureau, and first aid measures were given to him. The puppy was transported to the headquarters of a specialized association, but died on the way.

A criminal file under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Pitesti Court was drawn up, regarding the commission of the crime of “killing animals, with intent, without right”, according to art. 25 para. 3, lit. a from Law 205/2004R on the protection of animals.
