VIDEO The head of the FRF in Alba Iulia. What does Burleanu say about the chances of young football players from the province to play for the national team

--

The head of the Romanian Football Federation, Răzvan Burleanu, was present on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Alba Iulia. He visited the sports base in Micești, which is under construction.

Together with the mayor Gabriel Pleșa and several local councilors, Burleanu took part in a working visit to see the state of the works.

Several football clubs in the city would operate in the sports base.

The alba24.ro reporter asked the head of the FRF how young footballers can develop and how they can end up playing for the national team. This in the conditions where a good part of the local teams have either disappeared or are playing in the lower leagues.

“For the first time after the Revolution, we have a total change, at the level of development for children and juniors. First of all, we are talking about the largest number of children and juniors that we have after the Revolution, engaged in the football phenomenon in Romania.

FRF interventions are also added in different areas: classification of academies, interventions on regulations regarding investments in own academies. The obligation to increase the number of teams for a club playing in a higher division.

All this positions us at a totally different level in terms of football development than ten years ago”, said Răzvan Burleanu.
