AAylex ONE from Buzău, the company behind the Cocorico poultry meat brand, had a net loss of 43 million lei in 2023, down 60% compared to the previous year, according to data from the Ministry of Finance. The turnover of the company, which is also one of the leaders of the chicken meat market, remained at approximately the same level as the business registered in 2022, standing at 1.14 billion lei. The result was achieved with the help of an average number of 1,885 employees, according to data from the Ministry of Finance. Basically, AAylex ONE is the company created as a result of the merger of the 16 companies in the AAylex group, and the first year for which financial information is available is 2021.

The company’s business is vertically and horizontally integrated, from hatchery and breeding stations to maintain the natural genetics of chickens, natural chicken feed factories, chicken breeding farms, an ultra-modern, fully automated slaughterhouse, as well as two processing plants. In 2021, the company acquired Banvit Foods, one of the largest producers of feed and day-old chickens, previously owned by the Brazilian group BRF, one of the largest players in the food industry in the world, listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Brazil Stock Exchange.

Thus, through the purchase of AAylex ONE, it practically provides food for the birds. AAylex ONE is an important player both on the national and export markets, about 30% of the annual turnover being made abroad, according to the latest data.

In addition to AAylex One, Bogdan Stanca together with other associates also owns the Agricultural Cooperative AAylex Agro in Buzău, the largest agricultural cooperative in Romania, according to the latest data.
