The Vaslui Forestry Directorate (DS) secured a volume of 150,000 cubic meters of wood last winter. Practically, foresters from Vaslui were present in every UAT of Vaslui county.
Cătălin Idriceanu, director of DS Vaslui, stated that providing firewood for the population is one of the priorities of the institution he leads. Together with DS Vaslui and the economic operators who contracted wooden mass per foot, they used wood material for the population and economic agents.
“There were no particular problems. We were present in every community. There was firewood for the whole population”said Cătălin Idriceanu.
DS Vaslui valorizes the wood material through the forest bypasses, while private companies sell the wood from the forest holdings.
DS Vaslui owns 6 formations for the exploitation of wood mass: 82 forestry workers; 5 machines; 3 front loaders; 4 self-loading trailers. It also owns warehouses of shaped wood: 3 permanent warehouses and 25 temporary warehouses.
To help the citizens, DS Vaslui put into operation a wood splitting machine, installed at the warehouse in Brodoc. The installation cost about 120,000 euros and has the capacity to split large wood brought directly from the forest. At the customer’s request, the wood can be transported to the destination or picked up directly from the Brodoc warehouse.
