Nine people received medical care from SMURD crews after they were hurt at the Resurrection Service, ISU Sibiu representatives announced on Tuesday. They provided them with medical assistance on the spot, without the need to transport them to the hospital.
The more than 200 Sibiu military firefighters were on duty every day during the Easter mini-holiday and responded to a number of 344 requests from the single number for emergency calls 112 as follows:
– 301 requests for the provision of qualified medical first aid and the transport to the hospital of injured persons or persons with medical problems.
– 15 fires including: one fire at a household annex, one fire at a car, one fire at an electrical appliance, two fires at electrical panels and 10 fires of dry vegetation and household debris.
– 28 other interventions.

On May 1, firefighters intervened to extinguish a fire at a billboard on Tiberiu Ricci Street in the Architects’ Quarter with a fire truck and a SMURD crew. The fire was extinguished promptly, it manifested itself with smoke releases following a short circuit produced in the electrical fuse panel.
On the same day, there was a fire in the engine compartment of a car in the town of Moșna. The firemen mobilized with a special fire truck, and the fire was extinguished promptly, the engine compartment being slightly affected.
On May 2, two special fire trucks and a SMURD crew intervened in Agnita, to extinguish a fire in a household annex. As a result of the fire caused by an electrical short circuit, the annex of approximately 10 square meters and the goods stored inside burned.
On Saturday, May 4, a fire occurred at an electrical panel in the town of Motis. Firefighters intervened with a fire truck and extinguished the fire caused by an electrical short circuit.
Yesterday, May 6, on Oncești Street in the municipality of Sibiu, the firefighters were alerted that there were smoke emissions from an apartment. Two special fire trucks, a ladder truck and a SMURD crew went to the scene. The smoke emissions came from a microwave oven that caused an electrical short circuit and flooded the apartment located on the 6th floor of the building with smoke. Firefighters ventilated the apartment and the stairwell. No casualties were recorded.
