Coach Adrian Falub and striker Bogdan Sucitu prefaced this game that our team wants to win, even if mathematically they are guaranteed qualification in the first stage of the promotion barrier in the 2nd League.
“We are in first place, we want to stay there, we are thinking more about the play-off matches than these matches. We need to overcome the mathematical limit once, to win and be also mathematically in first place. We are in a position comfortable and we need to settle the scores as soon as possible. Tomorrow I want us to be well, to be set up well and to win,” said Adrian Falub.
Gloria’s head coach admitted that Friday’s game, which ended in a 0-0 draw with Unirea Ungheni, was not successful, “from an aesthetic point of view”, but the central objective is promotion and not the show. “The teams think, first of all, that they have an objective to achieve, not to lose, and that is very important. We had matches in which we played well, but the world didn’t really see them. We beat 6-1 at home , 5-1, 4-0, 3-0 away, we beat teams at home with 10 men, we scored 4. I don’t think we didn’t put on a show, we are the team with the best attack and the best defense . There are things that you have to see, if you want. At the moment we are very interested in our goal, to promote, that is very important for us”, said Falub.
Bogdan Sucitu pointed out that both he and his teammates are aware that the Bistrita public is waiting for this promotion and that they are determined to tick off this goal for which they were brought to the team.
Gloria is on the 1st place in series 9. After the three games left to be played in the play-off, the semi-finals of the promotion bracket follow, so the 1st place, the 9th series play the 2nd place, the 10th series, and the 1st place from the 10th series, respectively SCM Zalău, with 2nd place, Series 9. The teams on the 1st places will be hosts in the return leg, and the matches are scheduled for May 22 and 25.
The final play-off matches for promotion to League 2 will take place on June 1 and 5. The 5 winners of the final round will play in the 2024-2025 season of League 2. To determine the sixth promoted, a mini-competition will be played, in which the best four of the five teams defeated in the play-off finals will participate. The mini-competition will consist of semi-finals and a final (one game on the field of the first draw for “pairing”), the winner of the final will advance to League 2, the 2024-2025 edition.
