The police are investigating a case in which there are suspicions of malpractice after a 52-year-old woman from the municipality of Caracal in the county of Olt allegedly went into cardio-respiratory arrest following an endoscopic exploration intervention, performed by a surgeon from Craiova municipality.

“The police officers of the Dolj Criminal Investigation Service were alerted to the fact that, on the evening of April 4, a 52-year-old woman from the municipality of Caracal, Olt county, allegedly went into cardio-respiratory arrest following an intervention of endoscopic exploration, performed by a man from the city of Craiova, a surgeon. In the case, investigations are being carried out to establish the exact circumstances in which the event took place, and legal measures will be ordered”, informed the Dolj County Police Inspectorate, quoted by Agerpres.

According to Hotnews.ro, following the evidence administered so far, corroborated with the preliminary medico-legal conclusions, as well as the suspicion of a case of medical malpractice, the investigations will be continued under the aspect of committing the crime of manslaughter.
