SCMU Craiova basketball players are too good for play-out! On Tuesday, the team from Oltea prevailed in the first duel with CSM Galati, for the 11th place, score 108-61. It was a “gallop of health” for the white-blue grouping, which dominated the game head-to-tail, without encountering any problems at any time.

The difference between SCMU Craiova and the other teams in the LNBM play-out is visible even to a basketball expert. The results recorded lately by Yiannaras’ team prove that the place of the Oltenians is not at the bottom of the championship, but in the play-offs, where they have been used to us over the previous years. This time, the game with Galati should have been, at least on paper, a more complicated idea, given the fact that the best teams in the play-out were meeting. However, it turned out to be the opposite, and SCMU really marched in the first game directly with Florin Nini’s grouping. It should be noted that the match took place in Bucharest, on neutral ground, the hall in Galați not being available for this duel.

Only one team on the field

There is not much to say about the game, because the “guests” dominated, scored baskets in almost every attack, from almost every position. The Galatian suffered and all he could do was count the difference on the table as time ticked away. After the first 10 minutes, the winner had already been decided, somehow. Craiova brought in 33 points, while the opponents only 16. Another 10 points were added to the 17 point difference, so that the white-blues entered the cabins with a “dizzying” advantage, score 55 -28.

Nothing good happened for CSM Galati even after the break. However, the third act was somewhat more balanced, but still with the Craioan group in charge. It was 80-47 before the final 10 minutes, which, to no one’s surprise, were also at the discretion of the more valuable team. The final score was, in the end, 108-61 for SCMU Craiova, which is one step ahead of the LNBM play-out champion.

Sam Sessoms finished the game with 20 points and 6 assists. Matthew Freeman totaled 16 points and 8 rebounds, and Nik Dragan added 15 points. One important thing to note is that all players on the scoresheet scored in this match.

The second match between SCMU Craiova and CSM Galați will be played on Wednesday, May 8, in the Multipurpose Hall in Bănie. The game is scheduled for 18:00 and could be the last game of this season for both teams.
