The representatives of the County Police presented today, in front of the accredited journalists, a brief account of their activity, between April 30 and May 6, one that coincided with the Easter Holidays. All actions were aimed at ensuring an optimal climate of order and public safety. Thus, approximately 300 police officers acted daily to prevent and combat any anti-social events, as well as to prevent traffic accidents, responding to more than 530 requests from citizens, 478 of which were reported through the single national service for emergency calls 112. The concrete balance also includes 213 acts of a criminal nature (70 of which were established ex officio), 45 traffic offenses, 72 offenses against property and 22 offenses of another nature. As part of the activities carried out, the police applied 1,186 contraventional sanctions, in a total amount of over 410,000 lei. As a complementary measure, 115 driving licenses were suspended for the irregularities found in the traffic regime, of which 45 for exceeding the legal speed limit, 17 for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages, 2 for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances, and 51 for other deviations. 52 registration certificates were also withdrawn. The Dolje police officers – through their management, appreciate that during the holidays, they were on duty, ensuring the peace of the community and intervening promptly when the situation required it. Briefly, IPJ Dolj – as part of the integrated system of public order – successfully passed another test, and the chief commissioner Laurenţiu Dumitrescu, the interim head of IPJ Dolj, deserves the praise of the circumstance.
