The Easter mini-vacation brought fines for more than 1,100 Olten citizens found to be breaking the law. There are also quite a few drivers without driving licenses or those who have criminal records.
During the mini-holiday during the Easter holidays, the police officers from the Olt County Police Inspectorate carried out specific activities to ensure an appropriate climate of order and public safety, prevent road accidents and detect drivers who do not comply with the rules regarding traffic on public roads. And the number of fines is quite high.
“During this period, the police intervened in approximately 600 requests, of which 481 were notified through the National Single Service for Emergency Calls 112. During the activities carried out, 1,117 contraventional sanctions were applied, amounting to over 510,000 lei. For the irregularities found in the road regime, as a complementary measure, the police detained 154 driving licenses, of which 111 were detained for exceeding the legal speed by more than 50 km/h, 13 for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances, and 30 for other traffic violations. Also, 35 registration certificates were retained for driving vehicles with technical defects or for failure to fulfill legal obligations, and 25 violations of the traffic safety regime on public roads were also found.shows IPJ Olt.
