For the detected violations, during the mini-holiday of May 1 and Easter, the county police applied 680 contraventional sanctions, in a total amount of approximately 332,000 lei, according to IPJ Teleorman. Also, the cited source reports, the police officers from the road structures detained, in order to suspend the right to drive, 94 driving licenses and withdrew 33 registration certificates.
Also, another 9 driving licenses, detained by the police of the road structures and those of the public order structures with attributions on this line, were as a result of driving under the influence of alcohol, with values up to the limit of 0.40 mg/l pure alcohol in exhaled air.
Over 190 policemen, from all fields of activity, were on duty during the May 1 and Easter mini-holiday. “During this period, the police officers organized and carried out 17 actions, in the fields of road safety, ensuring public order and tranquility, preventing acts against patrimony, committed by disregarding trust or by wrongful appropriation, preventing acts of illicit trade and compliance with the rules sanitary-veterinary, as well as actions to prevent acts that affect life and physical integrity.
Between 01-06 May this year, on average, daily, over 140 traffic police officers from Teleorman acted to prevent and combat the main causes of road accidents, especially excessive speed and driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances “, it is stated in a press release of IPJ Teleorman.
