Rapeseed fields in Romania, stars on a NASA website

--

On Tuesday, one of NASA’s websites published spectacular images captured by a satellite above the south of Romania, where yellow fields of rapeseed can be seen. The images were taken above the area where the Olt river intersects with the Danube, according to the US Embassy in Bucharest, according to G4Media.ro.

“Golden fields from Romania”, is the title of the article, which shows that “the green agricultural lands of the south of Romania turned yellow as the rape blossomed. The OLI (Operational Land Imager) on the Landsat 8 satellite captured these bursts of color near the confluence of the Olt and Danube rivers on April 12, 2024.

Rapeseed and canola plants are part of the Brassica family, which also includes cabbage and mustard. They produce tiny, bright yellow flowers that, en masse, cover entire fields of gold,” says NASA.
